OMG!!! We went here for HH and to celebrate my 44th birthday. Than, John Legend concert. Seriously!!! The employees were super nice! Drinks and food came out quick. Food was beyond my expectations! Ive been to many locations in WA. But, by far the service, food is number choice. Highly recommend for group and dinner to anyone!!! Ooh... almost forgot the view of the Southlake Union

This is the second location I've gone to and I really liked this location. You can see the boats and you're right on the water. You do have to pay to park in the parking lot ($7). We had a reservation so we were sat right away. They gave us a nice table with full views outside even though it was dark out - it was still very pretty. We had lots of questions about the menu but our server was very informative. She also made sure we had everything we needed and drinks refilled. We decided to start with the crab dip. It was delicious. It came with little buttered crustinis. We also decided to try the chowder flight and share. It was 4 little dinghy sized of the soups. We really liked the lobster soup and the clam chowder. Wasn't a huge fan of the other two. For dinner, we split the lobster Mac & cheese which was one of their specials. Our server even had it split on plates ahead of time for us which is always nice. It was perfect portions split in half for each of since we had starters. Lots of lobster was in our Mac and cheese and it wasn't too heavy. Very good.

My friend received a recommendation for Duke's from a local and since she trusted her taste I agreed to try. On a cool rainy evening, we got a seat on the patio. It was chilly but there were heaters above , though I wish they would have been just a tad closer. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered the Oh My Cod! Fish & Chips. The fries were seasoned and crispy yet soft on the inside. The fish was lightly battered and flaky. The tartar sauce was tangy and the perfect complement to the fish. Even though I only ordered the one piece, it was filling enough that I didn't have room for dessert. My friend ordered the double dinghy sampler and she couldn't decide which one she liked better. She said both were rich and full of flavor. She also tried the Dungeness Crab Stuffed Just For The Halibut and the dish looked wonderful. I definitely have to try it next time. Service was great, and the view was beautiful. I definitely recommend dining on the patio, especially during the sunset.

4 1/2 if I could do half stars. We went in thinking it would be just an "okay" three star meal, more a touristy spot than good eating. However, it went well beyond our expectations. We all left stuffed and happy because we couldn't stop eating. As a group we ordered several different appetizers to share. So good, we ordered another round. These apps could be a meal. The "Soon-To-Be-Famous Alaska Weathervane Scallop Ravioli" (Seared Scallops with freshly made pumpkin & mascarpone stuffed ravioli with a white wine-garlic-butter sauce) was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly.

Pretty large menu. Massive oyster list inside but only one available that night. We ordered a scallop ravioli, 3 salads, soup, and oysters. The ravioli was tasty, salads as well...although the small sized salad was quite small so if you like your entree salad I'd suggest the larger size. Fabulous warm bread. Nice water views if you luck into a window or patio table. Service was friendly and helpful, but the food was a bit of a wait.

Visited Duke's Seafood SLU on a weekday for happy hour. Food/ beverages Ordered small bites like fries and dessert. Fries were crispy and served with 3 different dipping sauces. Dessert was surprisingly delicious with generous portion. During happy hour, cocktails are $3 off and averaging between $10 and $12 each. Customer service I was slightly disappointed that granted we had a reservation, there was still about 10-minute wait to get our table ready. Service is generally slow. So if you are in a rush, this might not be a place for you. Ambiance We got the covered patio seating where you can the view of the Lake Union. It's very relaxing and nice hangout spot especially on a sunny day.

Duke's is a nice restaurant on South Lake. Gorgeous scenery of the water, boats, and part of the city while dining. The interior is decorated in a classic nautical theme. Four restrooms and full bar Parking - you have to pay for parking regardless of whether you are dining at the restaurant. Minus -1 star. The service was great, especially from our server/bartender, Willow. Friendly, attentive, and helpful. (5/5) Complimentary Bread - sourdough. It came out nice and warm. We ordered a couple of things from the HH menu. Award Winning Clam Chowder (small bowl): All natural, New England style, nitrate-free bacon, creamy, and herby (5/5). I can see why it's award winning. But my only complaint was that it was served in a very shallow bowl and not really filled to the rim or lip. Clam Lover's Steamer Clams: local Manila clams with butter, garlic, white wine, fresh basil, tomatoes, & rosemary bread (3/5). Some of the clams had a lot of sand in them. So that was unpleasant. The broth was ok - not as flavorful as other places. Blessed by the Pope Cioppino: Fresh Dungeoness Crab with Alaskan Salmon, Halibut, Cod, Wild Mexican Prawns, and local Manila Clams (3.5/5). The seafood was fresh and cooked well. I thought the broth was just ok. Complimentary Peerless Pier Pie: Lopez Island Creamery chocolate and espresso ice cream layered in a cookie crust with all natural chocolate sauce, homemade whipped cream and topped with toasted almonds (4/5). The ice cream pie was delicious. Seattle Cola - locally brewed cola. It was worth trying, but I like the bigger brand names Again, it's beautiful to walk around afterward to see the South Lake and surrounding scenery.

Okay so let me start off by saying that the award winning clam chowder here gave like place chowder a run for its money. I can't tell which one is Seattle's best chowder between them, the flavors are a little different but both of them are incredibly delicious. I will say this, when you combine the excellent chowder with the beautiful view, it's a clear winner to dine at dukes . The lobster chowder was pretty good too but it sort of paled in comparison to the clam chowder. The calamari steak was great and I was actually really happy that I got to eat that because it's rare that you see this on a menu: everyone serves your typical calamari rings everywhere but the calamari steak is a rare find. The crab cakes were excellent, or should I say crab cake (we didn't realize only one cake came per order haha). I'll tell you what I liked most about it, we noticed that they don't skimp you on the crab, the crab content is very high compared to most crab cakes that use fillers to cheapen their product. As a result of us liking the crab cake so much we ordered the crab cake sandwich. This was also a solid choice. I will say this, some food came cold and had to be sent back. The manager made sure it came hot on the next round, I didn't dock them any stars for it because the overall experience was stellar.

As a gluten free gal, this is one of my favorite spots for seafood! They have tons of gluten free options and even feature gluten free chowder. I also love that the chowder comes in so many different sizes so that I can sample a few if I don't want it as a meal. My happy hour go to is the deviled eggs. They are pricey but delicious! I also loved the chopped salad. The view and ambiance is lovely- we loved watching the boats and the water and even saw a blue heron from the table. The servers are friendly. We ordered Aperol spritzes and our server didn't know what those were. She came back with the completely wrong ratio and garnished with a lemon instead of a classic orange. She was young and seemed new, plus whatever she brought was pretty good, so it didn't ruin our experience at all. This will always be my go to for seafood happy hour with a view! Yum!
